PROGRAMS
BALLET
Level I dancers will begin class with floor stretches specific to developing strength in their feet. Dancers will then go to the ballet barre and learn basic steps and positions, which will be combined to create simple combinations. They will be taught about maintaining correct posture, which in ballet, involves everything from the feet up through the top of the head. After leaving the barre, dancers will continue stretching, working the hamstrings, calves, quadriceps, and back muscles. They will learn the names of the steps and what they mean in the French language. Dancers will attempt new jumps and execute them with more repetition.
MEET TAMARA ROY
A native of Buenos Aries, Argentina and raised in Miami, Florida, Tamara Roy, has recently just opened her own location in Aventura where she is currently teaching her Dance and Fitness classes. She has earned her Bachelor in Fine Arts from New World School of the Arts and the University of Florida. Her background influence in the dance world comes from more than 15 years of training in varies dance styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap, African, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Latin dance. She has had the privilege to been part of Momentum Dance Company, Live In Color, Miami Marlins and is on her 3rd season with the Miami Heat Dancers. Besides being a Heat dancer, Tamara is a full time dance and fitness instructor.
